Now, the focus is on the constructive further development of European integration. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With 66.6 percent voting in favor of EU accession, Austrians made a forward-looking decision for their homeland.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Following the fall of the Iron Curtain and with its accession to the EU, Austria has returned to the political center of the continent and can participate in all European decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Despite all justified criticism of the EU&#8217;s many weaknesses, the priority today is to constructively advance European integration.
