{"id":5636,"date":"2020-10-30T11:31:14","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T11:31:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pan.thatscommunication.de\/ukraine-must-deliver-on-reform-pledges\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T20:24:39","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T20:24:39","slug":"ukraine-must-deliver-on-reform-pledges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pan.thatscommunication.de\/en\/ukraine-must-deliver-on-reform-pledges\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine Must Deliver on Reform Pledges"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Ukraine must deliver on reform pledges: The Constitutional Court&#8217;s scandalous ruling harms the country \u2013 Parliament must act.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Following the Constitutional Court&#8217;s scandalous decision to annul key provisions of the anti-corruption reform in the public service, the Ukrainian government must now take action.<\/p>\n<p>The asset declaration requirement for politicians and public officials was one of the most crucial steps in the fight against corruption. \u201cFurthermore, it is a central component of visa liberalisation for Ukrainians by the EU,\u201d reminds Stefan Hab\u00f6ck, International Officer for Paneuropa Austria, warning: \u201cThis liberalisation is now hanging in the balance!\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The government, President Zelensky, and the Verkhovna Rada must finally crack down hard on the corrupt networks within the country. The EU and Ukraine&#8217;s partners must, for their part, increase pressure. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, a general punishment of Ukrainian citizens, such as the withdrawal of visa-free travel, harms innocent citizens and would only increase frustration,\u201d warns Rainhard Kloucek, Secretary General of the Paneuropa Movement Austria.
