The Paneuropean Debate League provides young people with an opportunity to strengthen their rhetorical skills, regularly engage with questions of European and foreign policy, and thereby develop both their personality and their professional profile. In doing so, the programme aims to strengthen participants’ resilience against disinformation and propaganda.
In our theory session we focus on rhetoric and argumentation theory as well as the mechanics of debating.
Our guest, Sophie Wotschke is a member of the Austrian parliament for the pro-European liberal party NEOS.
She is also the chairwoman of NEOS’ youth organisation JUNOS.
To strengthen democratic discourse she hosts monthly debates on current issues for young adults in the Austrian house of parliament.
The sessions are held as hybrid formats. Participants from outside Austria are explicitly invited.
