Perhaps we are idealistic—dreamers driven by the belief in a better world. Perhaps we are young “idealists” who think that problems can be solved by openly engaging with people. Perhaps we are naive because we believe that the peoples of Europe, despite their different languages, cultures, and mentalities, can be friends and are important to one another.
We are convinced that Europe is rich: rich in culture, rich in thought, rich in life! We want to live and experience Europe; we want to enjoy the richness of this Europe, but we also want to preserve, protect, and further develop it – for the benefit and well-being of the people in Europe.
The Paneuropean Debate League brings together young people who want to take responsibility, think critically, argue persuasively, and actively shape Europe. The focus is on rhetoric, argumentation, critical thinking, leadership, and European exchange.
The project starts with a pilot format in Vienna and is intended to develop into a long-term European platform that connects young people across national borders.
