Campaign by Murder

Karl von Habsburg, President of the Paneuropa Movement Austria, on the murder of Alexei Navalny:

“It was with great dismay that we learned today of the death of Alexei Navalny.

Alexei risked his life to expose the crimes of the Kremlin despot to the world.

Even if it sounds cynical, his assassination by the Kremlin honours him posthumously, as it proves how seriously Putin viewed him as an opponent.

Putin leaves a trail of blood. Anyone who stands in his way is eliminated. Hundreds of opposition figures, war opponents, and critics languish under the most brutal conditions in Russian penal camps or have been murdered.

This murder must finally rouse Europe and Austria. Anyone who supports Putin is a traitor.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Alexei Navalny’s family and all the brave members of his team.”
