Salzburg Summit: Exchange between Chairmen Schausberger and Jauernik
Constructive dialogue between the Salzburg Institute for the Regions (IRE) and Paneuropean Youth in Vienna.
The 16th Salzburg Europe Summit provided an opportunity for a discussion between IRE Chairman Franz Schausberger and Paneuropean Youth Chairman Philipp Jauernik. In addition to exploring possibilities for strengthening cooperation, particularly with Southeast Europe and in the area of strategic security issues, the two chairmen also exchanged experiences regarding the combination of virtual and physical conference components – an aspect that is becoming increasingly important given the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the opportunities offered by digitisation today.
Jauernik praised the excellent work of the IRE team, led by Joachim Fritz and Stefan Haböck, who managed to organise a safe and smooth congress despite strict requirements. “Such events are particularly wonderful in Salzburg – and very important for Austria. My thanks to Franz Schausberger for making such a significant contribution to Salzburg’s and Austria’s international role with the IRE and the Salzburg Europe Summit for 16 years now,” Jauernik enthused, announcing his intention to participate in the Summit again in 2021.
