Statement by the Paneuropa Movement Austria on Russia’s Recent Aggression Against Ukraine
The Paneuropa Movement Austria vehemently condemns Russia’s recent aggression in the Sea of Azov against Ukraine. The European Union is urged to utilise all its foreign policy options – this clearly includes the bilateral contacts of individual EU countries with Moscow – to compel Russia to return to applicable international law. In Ukraine’s case, this means the withdrawal of all Russian forces from Ukraine, and a cessation of all military support for anti-Ukrainian forces within Ukrainian territory. Crimea unequivocally belongs to Ukraine.
In response to Moscow’s recent aggression in the Kerch Strait, the Paneuropa Movement Austria demands sharper political measures against representatives of the Russian ruling apparatus, including economic measures against this group of individuals.
Furthermore, the European Union is called upon to immediately initiate a peacekeeping operation in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov, ensuring that Russia adheres to the applicable treaties regarding the use of these waters.
