They Love Freedom

„I am from Ukraine and I love freedom.“ The slogan on the T-shirts suits Paneuropa.

„I am from Austria and I love freedom“ would fit just as well as „I am a Pan-European and I love freedom“. In this specific instance, the freedom-loving Ukrainians were 21 young people who undertook a visit to Vienna as part of their training at the „Ukrainian Leadership Academy“.

This included visits to the UNO City, as well as discussions with politicians and a meeting with the two representatives of the Paneuropa Movement Austria, Stefan Haböck and Rainhard Kloucek.

Discussions revolved around the mutual perceptions between the two countries, European unification, Ukraine as a European nation, an integration policy instead of a neighbourhood policy, political engagement, and, naturally, the Paneuropa Conference to be held in Kyiv in October.
