Paneuropa: Visa-Free Travel for Kosovo: Now!
Following the ratification of the border agreement with Montenegro, the EU must keep its promises.
The Paneuropa Movement Austria, represented by its two Presidium members Philipp Jauernik (Chairman of Paneuropa Youth) and Rainhard Kloucek (Secretary General) at the celebrations marking ten years of independence in Kosovo’s capital, Pristina, demands immediate visa liberalisation for the country following the ratification of the border agreement with Montenegro by the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. “The freedom of movement for Europeans within Europe has been one of the fundamental demands of the Paneuropa Movement for decades,” Rainhard Kloucek emphasised, highlighting the injustice of the visa regime.
“Kosovo was given significantly higher requirements for visa liberalisation than other countries,” stated Philipp Jauernik, Head of Paneuropa Youth Austria. “The border agreement with Montenegro was the last outstanding demand. That has now been fulfilled. Now the EU must deliver!”
The Paneuropa Movement Austria calls on all EU countries that have so far refused to recognise Kosovo due to domestic political motives to abandon this stance, which is oriented towards national egoism, and finally recognise Kosovo’s independence, in the spirit of a politically strong Europe.
